Sleep hyperhidrosis, most commonly called night sweats is a medical disorder where there is an excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) during sleep. This sweating might not be noticed by the sufferer during the day. Night sweats are severe hot flash that occurs in the night, this flashes can result to excess sweating during sleep. This excessive sweat is not a result of the environment condition, but because of the hormonal changes relating to aging, medications, and other factors.
CAUSES OF NIGHT SWEATS
To determine the cause of night sweats, a doctor should have the medical history of the patients in order to diagnose the main cause. Some medical causes of night sweats are:
1. Menopause/Andropause: When there is a reduction in the level of some hormones like testosterone, there will be wrong signals sent to the hypothalamus that the body is overheated and in return the hypothalamus will react in other to expel the excess heat, thereby resulting to excess sweating during sleep.
