Domain Verification for New Resold Accounts[edit | edit source]
At ActiveCampaign, we take your account security seriously. That’s why we now offer domain verification for new resold accounts. This feature ensures that clients must verify their sending domain before sending any emails from their new accounts. By verifying their domain, users can avoid deliverability issues and enhance the security of their email campaigns. This article explains how new resold accounts can complete email domain verification effectively.
How to Access This Feature[edit | edit source]
To access the domain verification process, you need to log in to your new resold account. This feature is available on the Campaign Summary page when creating a campaign. It’s crucial for ensuring that your sending domain is authenticated before any communication is initiated.
Step-by-Step Instructions[edit | edit source]
Follow these detailed steps to verify your domain when logging into your new resold account:
1. **Login** to the new resold account. 2. Click on Campaigns in the left menu. 3. Click the Create your first campaign button. 4. On the Campaign Summary page, enter your email address in the From Email field. 5. A warning banner saying, “Your domain needs to be verified” will appear. Click the Send verification email button in the banner.

6. A domain verification email will be dispatched to the address in the From Email field. Once the email is sent successfully, a green alert will display indicating “Domain verification email was sent.”

The Campaign Summary page will then show a “Pending verification” banner until the domain is verified. Please note that campaigns cannot be sent until this domain verification is complete.

7. Go to your email inbox and look for an email with the subject line "Please verify your domain" from "no-reply@acems1.com." Open that message. 8. Click the Verify button in the email. 9. You will be redirected to the Settings > Advanced page in your ActiveCampaign child account. You may need to log in again.
Once domain verification is complete, the domain will display as Authenticated:.

Configuration Options and Settings[edit | edit source]
While performing domain verification, ensure to consider the following configuration options:
- From Email: Ensure that this is entered correctly, as it will be the email associated with your sending domain. - The verification is primarily handled through the email sent following the request in the Campaign Summary page.
Best Practices and Tips[edit | edit source]
1. **Own a Domain**: It is strongly recommended that your child accounts own a custom domain. While freemail domains can be verified, they often lead to deliverability issues. 2. **Check Email Before Sending**: For accounts created from a snapshot, ensure the From Email in the sandbox is updated before completing domain validation. 3. **Regularly Monitor Verification Status**: Keep track of any pending verifications to ensure the prompt delivery of campaigns.
Common Use Cases with Examples[edit | edit source]
- A new resold account can utilize domain verification during the setup of their email campaigns to ensure they don't face any sending issues later. - If a user tries to send an email through automation and encounters errors like “Need Verified Domain,” they can verify their domain during the creation of that email campaign as well.
Troubleshooting[edit | edit source]
If encountering a “Need Verified Domain” or “An address is needed in order to send this email” error when using the “Send an email” action during automation:
1. Ensure that the domain has been verified through the Campaign Summary page. 2. You can follow similar steps as above to address domain verification while building automation emails.
If issues persist after verifying: - Revisit the recommended steps to confirm that no errors were made during the verification process. - Contact support for further assistance.
