Two-click unsubscribe is a feature in ActiveCampaign that helps prevent unintentional unsubscribes from your email list, particularly for B2B communications. This occurs when corporate spam filters automatically click all links in an email, including the unsubscribe link. Implementing a two-click unsubscribe process can mitigate this issue.

What is Two-Click Unsubscribe?[edit | edit source]

With two-click unsubscribe, recipients are required to confirm their decision to opt-out when they click the unsubscribe link in your email. The process works as follows:

1. The recipient clicks the unsubscribe link. 2. A confirmation page appears with two options:

  * "Yes, unsubscribe me"
  * "No, keep me on this list"

If the recipient clicks "Yes, unsubscribe me," they will be removed from your list and directed to a confirmation page where they can provide feedback on their decision. If they select "No, keep me on this list" or exit the page without making a selection, they will remain subscribed.

How to Enable Two-Click Unsubscribe[edit | edit source]

Two-click unsubscribe is available for all ActiveCampaign plan levels at no additional cost. To enable this feature, follow these steps:

1. Submit a ticket to the Customer Experience Team. 2. Once your request is processed, the two-click unsubscribe option will be added to your campaigns and automation emails.

This new process will replace the existing one-click unsubscribe method for all past and future emails, and you will not have the option to switch back to one-click unsubscribe.

After the two-click unsubscribe process is implemented, it is recommended to test the feature by sending an email to a test contact and having them click the unsubscribe link.

If you decide to revert to a one-click unsubscribe process, you can submit another ticket to the Customer Experience Team for assistance.
