1. **Create your contact scoring criteria:** Define which actions and interactions will contribute to a contact's score.
2. **Initial setup:** Once you establish your scoring criteria, the initial calculation may take up to several hours. 

It is vital to allow sufficient time for this process to complete. The system will process the scores and apply them to your contacts based on the defined criteria.

3. **Regular updates:** After the initial calculation, the scoring system will run checks on your contacts every 12 hours. During these checks, it updates contact scores based on any new interactions or changes in engagement.
